Access Points
Connecting to an access point is simple. Plug in the access point to power it up (if outdoors, you can use a power bank). You should now see the access point in the wifi list on the laptop – connect to it. Our lab has two access points:
- TP-Link_450_F87B_5G
- This access point is for NIRSport2 450 & 454 (Mantis laptop)
- TP-Link_456_C734_5G
- This access point is for NIRSport2 456 & 457 (Spider laptop)
Use the appropriate access point during your scans. If your project requires using all 4 devices at once, you only need to use one access point. Please use TP-Link_450_F87B_5G in this situation. Since NIRSport2 456 & 457 is configured to automatically connect to the other access point, you will need to change their access point.
Changing Access Point
- Turn on the laptop you are using for Aurora
- Turn on the NIRSport2 device(s)
- Connect to the NIRSport2 by selecting it in the wifi list (can take a minute to appear after turning device on)
- Open Aurora and it should have automatically connected to the device
- Select the settings button
- In the "Access point device connects to" section, enter the username and password of the TP-Link you want it to automatically connect to. Country should be United States of America
- Click save!
- Turn off the NIRSport2 device and close Aurora
- Now connect the laptop to the TP-Link access point you need
- Turn on the NIRSport2 and open Aurora; you should see the device in the list
- After your scans, make sure to change these settings back to their appropriate access points!
